The Objective
The director required two distinct visual treatments for a Taekwondo practitioner integrated into a live-action film. The first requirement was wireframe renders. The second requirement was a highly stylized aesthetic that mimicked the look of forensic "reconstruction animation.”
The Approach
I developed two entirely separate workflows to achieve the director's distinct visual goals. For the wireframe aesthetic, I extracted motion capture data directly from the live-action footage. I applied this data to a 3D wireframe character in Cinema 4D and rendered PNG sequences that perfectly matched the camera composition of each scene. For the forensic reconstruction aesthetic, I utilized an AI-driven workflow. I rendered a T-pose character on a green background to use as a character reference. I then generated the final video sequences by combining the original live-action footage as a movement reference with the green screen character reference.
